Proof of Insurance via Smart Phone at MI Secretary of State

Currently, when you go to the Secretary of State to renew your plates you have to have a hard copy of your proof of insurance. The Secretary of Statewill not accept a proof of insurance that is on your smart phone at this time. There is pending legislation to allow this in the future but it has not passed yet. We will keep you informed of any changes!
