It’s going to stay hot and humid for about 10 days! Ugh!! Puddles of sweat! We wanted to take some time and share with you the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke. These are great reminders as you are out and about this holiday weekend. Make sure to keep an eye on yourself, your family, friends and your elderly neighbors. You need to make sure that you are staying out of the sun and drinking loads and loads of water and taking time to cool yourself down.
Do you know the difference between heat stroke and heat exhaustion? See the graphic and remember a few key differences between the two:
Heat Exhaustion | Heat Stroke |
· Slow Heartbeat | · Fast Heartbeat |
· Clamminess | · Decrease in Urination |
· Heavy Sweating | · Decrease in Sweating |
· Desire for Water |
If you, your family or friends or elderly neighbor feel any of these things over the next few days get out of the heat and seek medical attention! Both heat exhaustion and heat stroke are potentially life threatening! #teammllins
