ML&L Cares Program Spotlight: Animal Placement Bureau (APB)
About four years ago now Will and I decided to implement the ML&L Cares: Trusted Choice for Charities program. What is this? Our agency will donate $500 each month to a local area non-profit that is referred to us by YOU our clients. Just email mllcares@mllins.com with the name of the charity, a quick description and contact information for the charity.
The name of the charities that are referred to us go before our ML&L Charity committee that consists of a team member from our service, sales and management team and they select one recipient each month. The charities that were not selected stay on our list for the following month. The more times the same charity is referred the more weight it is given before the committee.

This month’s recipient is: Animal Placement Bureau (APB)
The Animal Placement Bureau is a volunteer run organization that is passionate about saving dogs and placing them into loving homes. They do not have a facility like many other rescues and they do not operate with a paid staff. They are a no kill shelter and place all their dogs into foster homes.
Their dogs come from local shelters and humane societies because these dogs need more one on one time or need substantial medical care. They also receive dogs from private owners who can no longer provide for their dogs. When you donate to this organization 100% of the donations goes towards the care of the foster dogs including vet care, flea and heartwarm preventative, dog food and microchips.
APB was founded in 1979, in Livingston County by a small group of animal lovers whose goal was to rescues dogs, cats, bunnies, hamsters, birds horses, pig, goat and cows but in 1987 most of their base was located in Ingham County so they expanded into the greater Lansing area. Then in 1994, APB evolved to focus on dog rescue only and became a 501 © (3) and has grown to 150 volunteers of that 60 are approved foster homes.
