ML&L Cares Program Spotlight: My Place (Jackson)
About four years ago now Will and I decided to implement the ML&L Cares: Trusted Choice for Charities program. What is this? Our agency will donate $500 each month to a local area non-profit that is referred to us by YOU our clients. Just email mllcares@mllins.com with the name of the charity, a quick description and contact information for the charity.
The name of the charities that are referred to us go before our ML&L Charity committee that consists of a team member from our service, sales and management team and they select one recipient each month. The charities that were not selected stay on our list for the following month. The more times the same charity is referred the more weight it is given before the committee.

This month’s recipient is: My Place (Jackson)
My Place provides a rental living space for youth ages 16-21 in the Jackson area who can be placed in independent living or are aging out of the foster care system. The My Place home was completed in March of 2021 and by April of 2021 they were able to accept their first resident! My Place is able to provide numerous services to residents like case management, mentorship, emotional support, transportation and a safe home that come with all the basic necessities!
The mission of My Place is to “reduce the vulnerability for exploitation by offering safe housing and holistic support services to youth and young adults in the Greater Jackson area with a preference to those in vulnerable circumstances.”
The statistics for children in foster care are overwhelming and we are happy to be able to provide some support to such a fantastic organization helping those in need!
