MLL Cares: Supporting the Future of Insurance at the 36th Annual Westran Scholarship Golf Outing

At Meiers Lombardini Lemanski Insurance, giving back to the community is woven into everything we do. Over seven years ago, we established our MLL Cares program to support local causes, address emerging community needs, and uplift organizations making a real difference. Our internal committee carefully selects non-profits to support based on their missions—and we love incorporating suggestions from our wonderful clients, too!

For the month of August, through MLL Cares, we were proud to sponsor and participate in the 36th Annual Westran Insurance Scholarship Golf Outing.

Investing in the Next Generation of Insurance Professionals

Since the scholarship was first established in 1990 in honor of Roy Westran, the former president of Citizens Insurance Company, it has made an incredible impact. Over the years, the program has helped over 1,000 students by awarding more than $1.1 million in financial assistance.

Scholarships typically range from $1,000 to $2,000, with preference given to students based on:

• Geographic location (Midwest)

• GPA and academic performance

• Work experience

• Financial need

• Pursuit of a degree or career in the insurance industry

A Cause Close to Our Hearts

This organization holds a very special place for our team. Our own Lisa Lemanski has had the distinct privilege of serving on the Board of Directors for this organization for a number of years, helping guide its mission to support students stepping into the insurance field.
